Our institute is connected to eduroam
Federation eduroam is an international project dealing with the support of mobility and roaming in National Research and Education Networks (NREN). In the Czech Republic, this project is covered by the association . Our institution joined the project in 2023. Thus, another step was taken to increase the quality and prestige of the institution. One account. Anywhere.
A registered subscriber can use this wireless network (wherever it is available) using one user account. The account is managed by the home (establishing) organization.
Using roaming is simple, a properly set up participant's device connects automatically as soon as the eduroam network is available. Similar to how connecting to foreign networks of mobile operators works as part of roaming. Hence the acronym: education roaming.
The service is free for all participants.
Eduroam account activation
In eduroam, a username consisting of two parts is used - the username itself and the realm. For the username you are used to from other systems of the school/institution, you will add the @ character and the realm it.cas.cz as part of roaming . You will also need to set an eduroam password before you can use roaming
